Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, formerly known as The National Northwest Agriculture and Forestry College, was founded in 1934. It is now directly under the Ministry of Education and a key university in the national “985 Project” and “211 Project” colleges, also one of the first universities to be listed in the National "World First-class University and Discipline" construction.

The School of Economics and Management, which undertakes the MBA program, has a post-doctoral mobile station for agricultural and forestry economic management, a first-class doctoral degree authorization unit for agricultural and forestry economic management, two first-class master degree authorization units for agricultural and forestry economic management and applied economics, and three professional master's programs in Business Administration, Finance and Agriculture.

The history of the MBA program of Northwest A&F University can be traced back to the MBA training program offered by the former Northwest Agricultural University in the 1990s. In 1999, it began to recruit Shaanxi MBA students and was approved as the national MBA program in 2009. The MBA of Northwest A&F University adheres to the fine tradition of the school, adheres to the educational philosophy of “national foundation, improving people's livelihood and being scientific”, and takes "integrity, simplicity, innovation and perseverance" as the core value. Based on the northwest and facing the whole country, the MBA of Northwest A&F University gives full play to the advantages of closely combining education with production, education and research, and highlights the characteristics of agriculture-related MBA education.

The MBA of Northwest A&F University adheres to the educational connotation of advancing with the times and pursuing excellence. With the strong faculty of the School of Economics and Management as the main body, it hires scholars, government workers, and well-known entrepreneurs at home and abroad as part-time professors and off-campus mentors, forming a stable, diversified and reasonably structured faculty team, as well as five distinctive professional directions, including corporate operation management, investment economy and project management, financial business operation management, marketing and supply chain management, food nutrition and safety management, and the school has been widely recognized by the society.
